Knitted porcelain

This series of vases and containers start their life as a seamless knitted skin. The textile skins are dipped in porcelain slip and stretched on balloons to dry. Once fired at high temperatures in the kiln, the textile has burned off, leaving a detailed imprint of its texture rendered in very lightweight porcelain.
