This is my graduation project from my master of design at Design Academy Eindhoven. The title of my thesis is “The aesthetics of domestic sound”.
I’ve been looking at how the designer can contribute to reduce the global sound pollution problem by acting at the source: noisy objects. I created acoustic skins that muffle the sound both visually and audibly, celebrating domesticity and facilitating the user’s bond to his appliances.
